ABSTRACT: The role of vocational education in promoting sustainable transportation solutions is pivotal in addressing the growing need for eco-friendly and efficient transportation systems. This study aimed to explore how vocational education programs can contribute to sustainable transportation, identify key skills and competencies developed, and evaluate student satisfaction with the training programs. A survey design was employed to gather detailed data from participants engaged in sustainable transportation training. The sample size comprised 200 students from various technical institutions focusing on transportation and environmental studies. Purposive sampling was used to select participants with a background in transportation education. The case study was conducted at the University of Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria. Findings revealed that vocational education significantly improved students' understanding of sustainable transportation technologies, enhanced their skills in designing and implementing green transportation solutions, and increased their awareness of environmental impacts. Students expressed high levels of satisfaction with the training programs, appreciating the relevance and practical applications of the curriculum. It was recommended that vocational training institutions continuously update their programs to include the latest sustainable transportation technologies and foster partnerships with industry stakeholders to ensure the training remains relevant and impactful.
